Cadet Scheme

We are currently reviewing our cadet memberships and will deal with applications as we receive them according to availability.

What is involved?

You'll meet one evening a week at either Durham or Darlington, with additional dates for special events, volunteering and trips. 

Wednesday evenings 6.30pm - 8pm

Junior cadets aged 11-14 years.

Senior cadets aged 15-17 years.

  • Taking part in crime prevention initiatives
  • Learning about the Police and Law
  • Visits to local Policing departments
  • Assisting with public safety events
  • Educational and awereness visits across emergency and community services
  • Team building exercises
  • Completing the Police bleep test and physical fitness training
  • Fun and games 
  • Opportunity to complete the Duke of Edinburgh's Award
  • Making a difference within the local community

 Who can become a Police Cadet?

You need to be in Year 7 or above and be under 18 years old, have lived in the UK for the last 3 years. You must live within Co Durham and Darlington (Durham Police force area)
